By his passionate denunciation of President Trump (The Mercury, October 31), Colin Bosman’s words pay tribute to the success of the mainstream media in instilling narratives.
For ten years, the ‘reputable’ media has all but exhausted its vocabulary of scorn, loathing, ridicule and aversion regarding Donald Trump. So it is not surprising that he is seen by the likes of Colin Bosman as a “megalomaniac” who is a dire threat to “political sanity and democracy.”
What is inflaming the opinion of Trump’s various actions is the lawfare conducted by Obama/Biden-appointed district judges who have issued 143 injunctions to date seeking to halt or stymie Trump’s actions. But contrary to Bosman’s claim, Trump’s executive decisions are legitimate and have been upheld either by the Appeal Courts or the Supreme Court, six of whose nine justices Trump did not appoint.
For gross abuse of legal power and corruption, Bosman should consider the perversion of justice the Biden regime perpetrated by its baseless lawfare against Trump, spying on over 160 Republican Congressmen and Senators, authorizing banks to subpoena their bank records, persecuting Christians and parents as ‘domestic terrorists’ for being pro-life and opposing the imposition of Marxist CRT and wokeism in schools.
Eliminating the couriers of drugs in international waters is sensible and legitimate. Cartels were warned of the consequences but chose defiance instead. The same applies to the Democratic governors of Illinois and Oregon. Trump warned them to rein in the arson and violence occurring within Chicago and Portland or else he would send in the National Guard. But they ignored him. For the sake of political theatre, they attempted to sue him for violating state rights, ignoring the legal superiority of Federal authority.
For the record, Democrat Presidents JFK and LBJ legitimately ordered the National Guard to subdue rioting and unrest in 1962, 1965, 1967 and 1968. In 1992, President Bush Sr. did likewise in Los Angeles. Thanks to the National Guard, safety has returned to Washington, DC and Memphis as a consequence of Trump’s Federal intervention against crime.
Trump’s use of tariffs is a huge success. It has remedied the lop-sided state of trade and is pouring hundreds of billions into the US, reducing taxes and living costs. The quid pro quo of the tariff policy is bringing job-creating motor, semiconductor and ship-building industries to the US. The naysayers of Wall St and the mainstream media have long since had to eat humble pie on that score.
With Trump’s job approval at 53% compared to the Democrats’ 26%, the mainstream media’s viewership and readership is dwindling. Truth, hitherto submerged or disparaged, is re-emerging. David Ellison, CEO of Paramount Skydance, which owns CBS, has appointed Bari Weiss, the female founder of The Free Press, as CBS editor-in-chief to reset CBS away from its Left-wing bias.
Lawsuits are mounting, exposing those who lied about Trump colluding with Russia in 2016, about Hunter Biden’s laptop being Russian disinformation, and about January 6 being a Trump-inspired insurrection. Proof of the Democrats’ theft of the 2020 election is another truth revelation looming.
As German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer noted about truth, it passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed; second, it is violently opposed; third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
