As might be expected, the AFP report on violence in US cities failed to provide any context as to why the Trump Administration has branded them war zones (The Mercury, October 7).
The legacy of the Biden regime’s legalized invasion by millions of unvetted illegal immigrants is the cause of crime and violence in Democrat-run sanctuary cities. Prominent amongst those illegals are Antifa, drug cartel gangsters, Tren de Aragua terrorists from Venezuela, MS13 terrorists from Colombia, human traffickers and criminals of every dangerous stripe.
The globalist enemies of the USA have long been plotting to destroy America from within via a civil war, social polarization, wokeism, critical race theory and media indoctrination. Trump was elected to combat that and to make America great again.
For 80 consecutive days, anarchic elements have been rioting against ICE agents in Portland, Oregon, committing arson and vandalism, hindering ICE agents from carrying out a Federal order to remove illegal aliens. Yet when Trump deployed the National Guard to Portland to uphold the rule of law, incredibly, he was accused by Oregon Democrat Senator Wyden of “inciting violence in what is a peaceful city by launching an authoritarian takeover.”
Criminal violence and anarchy have been plaguing Chicago for years. As a sanctuary city, it serves as a base for illegal aliens and terror elements, which control neighbourhoods in violation of the right of citizens to peace and safety. Trump warned Democrat mayor Johnson that unless the situation abated, he would send in 300 members of the National Guard, which he has now done.
In mindless disregard for the victims of violence and shameless rejection of assistance to curb the violence, Chicago mayor Johnson has declared “ICE-free zones”, thereby prohibiting Federal agents from implementing law and order. Compounding his egomania and preference for political theatre is his baseless lawsuit against Trump for deploying the National Guard.
The extent to which anarchists operate brazenly in Chicago is their placement of $10,000 bounties on the heads of Federal agents. In the suburb of Broadview, ICE agents were trapped when they were surrounded by the anarchists’ motorcade. The Chicago Police Radio Transmission record shows that their calls for help were ignored on orders from the mayor.
Seattle, Los Angeles, Memphis, New York, Minneapolis and other Democrat-run cities are cauldrons of crime and violence. Despite being designated a domestic terrorist organization on September 22 by Trump, Antifa brazenly advertised that a training camp would be held in Philadelphia on October 3.
Soundly defeated on November 5, 2024, the Democrats and their cohorts have refused to accept the rejection of their globalist, wokeist, anti-American policies. By condoning violence and propagating hate, the Democratic Party is betraying the Constitution and stoking insurrection.
Trump is aware of that which is why he addressed an unprecedented gathering of the entire top order of the US military at Quantico on September 30, in which he emphasized that the gravest threat to America is from within. To meet that threat, Trump has said he would implement the Insurrection Act, which, without state consent, authorizes him to deploy the military to suppress armed rebellion and anarchy.
