What is significant about a report on Avian flu in Business Report of April 11 is that it signals the beginning of the next attempt by the globalist elite to impose restrictions on humanity that have nothing to do with health.

Ramping up the alarmist narrative is the globalist New York Times, which asserts that the H5N1 Avian virus “could mutate to enable efficient transmission between people.” The new Director of the CDC, Dr Mandy Cohen, says the CDC is “taking the situation very seriously.” Last month, the Manchurian president in the White House signed a Bill allocating $1 billion for bird flu vaccines.

So with the controlled media rolling out the alarmist script, Big Pharma is all set to coerce the masses to comply with “science.” Except, as with the Covid scare, science does not see Avian flu as cause for alarm.

Dr Harvey Risch, an epidemiologist at Yale’s School of Public Health, dismisses fear-mongering about Avian flu as unfounded because it is not contagious. Dr Celine Gounder of KFF Health maintains that in the only cases, she has seen amongst humans, it was manifested as a mild conjunctivitis. In 2008, when bird flu was predicted to kill two million Americans, Dr Joseph Mercola dismissed President Bush’s allocation of billions for a bird flu vaccine as a “great hoax.”

Scientists not in thrall to the CDC and Big Pharma, like Professor Francois Balloux of the Genetic Institute at University College, London, urge people to ignore the doomsayers. Dr Gabriel Girouard of New Brunswick, Canada, says that at worst Avian flu would be no different from common seasonal flu. Dr Richard Bartlett, formerly of the Department of Health in Texas, dismisses vaccines as utterly uncalled for. In any case, he points out that inexpensive, effective treatments are readily available.

Another globalist motive for promoting the Avian flu alarm is to use it as an excuse to cull poultry and cattle stocks, thereby creating food insecurity and enabling complicit governments to extend control over populations by means of food rationing.

Having been deceived by the Covid-19 pandemic that never was, then coerced into being jabbed by an untested vaccine that has proved more life-threatening than Covid, people need to be wary of the Orwellian globalists’ slogan: ‘Never let a good crisis go to waste.’

The claim by Donald McKay of XA Global Trade Advisors that “deglobalization is more expensive and less innovative” (Business Report, February 19) is grossly at odds with reality.

In the first place, the socialist-motivated state owned enterprises in South Africa, which are inherently sluggish, expensive monopolies, have nothing to do with “deglobalization.” Inefficiency and waste are the hallmarks of governments worldwide.

Where McKay’s argument in favour of globalisation goes off the rails is his assertion that it “means everyone who produces a product is potentially in competition with the world, and competition is what drives innovation.”

That is emphatically not the case. Although Ronald Reagan was hailed for deregulating the US economy, the unintended aspect of his policy was the tremendous surge in mergers and takeovers that followed in the wake of deregulation. That was particularly evident in printing and publishing, which has resulted in four or five publishing companies owning over 90% of the book trade. In South Africa, Caxton and Naspers account for the majority of magazines, newspapers, and suburban freebies.

Nestle and Mondelez are the global giants of confectionary. The first hurdle in trying to compete with them is sourcing raw products. They either own or control the suppliers. Then there is the hurdle of distribution, marketing, and display. They have monopoly control over all those bases and, of course, price control.

Globalisation confronts everyone on the shop shelves. The American giant, Pepsico, bought Pioneer Foods, which owns Bokomo cereals, Spekko rice, Liquifruit, Sasco, and Simba. Walmart owns Game, Makro, Builders Express, and Cambridge Foods. Heineken owns SAB. Again, the muscle to source products at the cheapest rate in the greatest volume and to regulate and saturate the market ensures that serious competition for these giants is non-existent.

Globalisation is also a tool of population control. That dark reality was demonstrated by Big Pharma during the so-called COVID pandemic. Through its financial leverage, it prevailed on bought politicians to impose improperly tested vaccine mandates on populations, which have resulted in unprecedented increases in mortality rates and illness, while Big Pharma has posted record profits.

The sad corollary of globalisation is that it outsources employment to China, India, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, where low production costs facilitate greater profit margins. Globalisation has diminished the producer capacity of many countries, thereby increasing unemployment and dependence on social grants.

As President, Trump brought jobs back to the US from China and Mexico. As a result, unemployment was the lowest in 50 years. Employment of minorities exceeded all previous records. Dependence on food stamps declined by seven million. Trump demonstrated the benefit of deglobalization by reinstating pride in the phrase ‘Made in the USA.’

Deglobalization promotes local employment, ensures better beneficiation of national resources through local control, and stymies the Orwellian designs of the WEF.

On October 2, I wrote to you to question the Independent’s adherence to its Code of Conduct in the light of its publication and dissemination of falsehoods regarding climate change, referring specifically to the October 2 issue of Business Report.

To date, there has been no response from your office to me. The conclusions I draw from that are not flattering and pose questions about the purpose of your office.

Be that as it may, by your publication of a fresh edition of the falsehoods penned by one Blessing Manale in Business Report on October 18, in which, ironically, he labels those who oppose his narrative on climate change as “liars,” it is clear that you are content to continue to allow Independent’s Code of Conduct to be violated.

There is abundant evidence available to dismiss the Manales of this world and their egregious narrative. That is what Independent should be focusing on because it upholds its Code of Conduct. Allied with that journalistic thrust would be the exposure of the agenda of those who claim climate change is man-made.

Worldwide, there is a pushback underway against the globalist ESG simply because its consequences are Orwellian and dystopian. If Independent wants to live up to its claim of being “independent,” it should divorce itself from the false Manale decarbonization narrative.

In terms of the Independent Newspapers Code of Conduct, the following principles are highly valued: accountable journalism, accuracy and honesty.

On that basis, I strenuously object to the article headed: “COP 28 A crucial year for Africa’s Climate action…..Global Warming….. Climate Emergency 2023” – by Keketso Motjuwadi.

That article flagrantly violates the principles noted above.

There is NO climate emergency. There is no global warming. That narrative is the concoction of the UN and WEF globalists. They deliberately ignore science and history. Robust weather changes have occurred in every century. Scientific records for the past 70 years show that temperatures have been consistent. In Natal, for example, the most extreme weather ever recorded occurred between May 31 and June 2 of 1905 – long before the major use of fossil fuels.

There have been two warming periods in the past 2000 years. The first was between 200 BC and 300 AD; the second was from 900 AD to 1300. They occurred when fossil fuels were in the ground. Warming and cooling periods are a natural occurrence. The cooling period that followed 1300 saw the Thames ice up in the winter. The warming period preceded it saw fruit grown as far north as Hadrian’s Wall in Britain.

By the UN’s own calculations, if the planet was completely decarbonised, the temperature would decrease by 0,4 of a degree Celsius.

What the alarmists do not state is that carbon dioxide comprises 0,4% of the earth’s atmosphere. Yet it is crucial to plant vegetation growth. In 2018 an experiment at Rhodes University proved that by increasing the carbon dioxide content, plant life flourished even in barren circumstances.

What needs to be probed by Independent Newspapers is: why is this falsehood about global warming and carbon being perpetrated? What is the agenda of those promoting it? Who is financing this propaganda of bought science?

Tens of thousands of scientists have pointed out the falsehood that global warming is man-made. Why does Independent not publicise their narrative? That would be in the public interest – another of the principles in your Code of Conduct. Yet one never reads the views of those opposing the globalist falsehood about climate change except in occasional Letters to the Editor. Is that an error of omission or commission? Wittingly or unwittingly, its omission constitutes censorship which Independent staunchly opposes.

I am a long-standing subscriber who pays his annual subscription upfront. I expect accountable journalism. I also expect compliance with the principle audi alteram partem.
