On August 14, in announcing a crushing economic operation unprecedented against any country, Trump declared that his administration was going to shut down the following conduits sustaining the IRGC: “oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries and front companies. You know who you are!”

It has always been Trump’s strategy to strangle the IRGC by shutting down its financial resources. Back in March 2025, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent began closing in on the networks financing the regime. The success of that strategy is evident in the statement by the grandson of Khomeini, who has acknowledged that it is devastating. Each day, the regime is losing $500 million in revenue. Inflation is running at 90%. It takes over two million Iranian Rials to equal $1.

The IRGC has lost the currency, lost the Straits of Hormuz, and lost the streets to the people, as begging calls now emanate from its parliament for a deal with the US. To all intents and purposes, the IRGC has run out of road.  Further evidence of Trump’s strategy of total economic isolation and blockade is his applause for the Mecca Pact between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey – all former friends of the IRGC.

For the region, Trump’s strategy has isolated, defanged and defunded Islamic terror groups like Hamas. The US has delisted Syria as a sponsor of terrorism. Positive relations between Israel and Lebanon have been established, ending 50 years of hostile confrontation. The modus vivendi is peace through construction.

Despite the Trump Derangement Syndrome entrenched in the globalist mass media, the Overton Window has shifted. Mainstreaming is going to have to eat humble pie and wise up to the transition it has been denigrating.

Trump’s economic strategy against the IRGC does not leave any grey areas. Thus, the ANC’s whining about how that strategy threatens its relations with the IRGC has no credibility. Moreover, given the tiny $25 million or so in trade South Africa has with Iran, underlines its irrelevance.

But what would be relevant is if the ANC put South Africa’s interests first, instead of its ideological moorings, by renouncing its connections with the IRGC and Hamas. That would earn the favour of the Trump administration and result in economic benefits for the country. That is a call the DA should be making loudly from within the GNU because the economic crushing of the IRGC in Iran is an Overton Window event.

Prominent among the issues is the ongoing effort of President Trump to achieve a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. Clashing with his efforts are the countermeasures of the EU. By its grant of €100 billion to Zelensky to continue the war, it is clear the EU does not want peace. Actually, more to the point, the EU is doing its best to promote a conflagration in the region which will evolve into a world war, just as the Balkan crisis of 1914 led to World War One.

This is evident by its latest attempt to goad Russia into widening the conflict by threatening to seize its frozen foreign assets, a move which the EU’s puppet, Zelensky, endorses as ‘payment’ for Russia’s ‘war crimes.’ Another hostile card the EU is considering to play in order to sabotage Trump’s peace efforts is to dump $2 trillion in US debt, thereby enfeebling Trump’s political clout and his ability to reset geopolitics.

The key to the EU’s intention of igniting a European-wide war, which it hopes would have global ramifications, is to project Russia as the bogeyman posing a “dire threat” to Europe. Ukraine, which is a major money-laundering hub of the globalists and a transit base for human trafficking and nefarious activities regarding bio-weapons, provides a suitable fuse to achieve the EU’s intentions.

War is the only means the EU and its globalist World Economic Forum comrades have of stopping Trump’s defeat of their intended subversion of national sovereignties and democratic choice so as to preside over totalitarian, Orwellian hemispheres. Thus, the EU’s narrative, loyally disseminated by its kept mass media, falsely paints Putin as an ogre to be toppled while depicting Trump as Putin’s comrade.

On Pearl Harbour remembrance day, December 7, that narrative was appropriately shattered by two developments. In Moscow, Putin announced that he supported Trump’s peace initiatives, and in Washington, Trump released a major national security document. By reasserting the 1823 Monroe Doctrine as the cornerstone of US policy, Trump rejected globalist geopolitics, thereby emphasizing America’s sovereignty.

As those in power in Britain, France, Germany, Canada and Australia increasingly stifle freedom of speech in an attempt to safeguard the intentions of globalist hegemony, thanks to the example of the Trump Administration and Elon Musk’s X platform, the Overton Window is opening. Mainstream narratives are losing traction. Public resistance is becoming militant. Truth is changing perceptions. In Europe, increasingly people are awakening to the fact that their politicians in the grip of the EU are the enemy, not Russia.

2026 will be a watershed year if millions test positive for national sovereignty, if they recognize the various guises of tyranny and distance themselves from narratives based on falsehood.
