The Post’s culling of staff matches that of the New York Times and the LA Times. Last year the new majority owner of the LA Times, Patrick Soon Shiong, laid down a new editorial guideline: the paper had to provide balanced perspectives instead of being just a Democrat views sheet.

Quiet shifts in media that have been conspicuously one-sided in their reporting and airing of views, have occurred in Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta. He named former Trump employee, Dina McCormick, the new president of Meta. Tik Tok, now run by Trump supporter Larry Ellison, is another platform no longer slavishly compliant with globalist propaganda.

CBS Evening News ratings have soared since the appointment of Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief. She is pro-Israel and rejects the ideologies of the Far left. Also assisting in ending the hitherto blatant leftwing bias of the mass media is the Federal Commission on Communication. It requires late night talk shows to provide equal time for spokesmen from both major political parties.

Readership losses incurred by newspapers like the NYT and the Post have been blamed on the internet and social media. But the real reason is that millions have woken up to the fact that the mainstream media publish fake news and jaundiced views while deliberately omitting or distorting developments that deviate from their narratives. As a result, subscriptions and viewership numbers have slumped and continue to do so.

Unfortunately transparency is dying in the Orwellian EU. It is applying censorship to all posts and messages that challenge its narratives and criminalising defaulters.

Nonetheless, as observed last month, developments in 2026 are widening the Overton Window on discourse. Having recognized that reality, the Washington Post should change its masthead slogan from ‘democracy dies in darkness’ to ‘democracy thrives in transparency.’

Yet he clearly revels in regurgitating the label Biden’s corrupt Department of Justice succeeded in manufacturing, namely, that Trump is “a convicted felon.” Like the wilfully prejudiced opinion purveyors of the mass media, Markandan loyally fails to see that the lawfare against Trump had nothing to do with justice. It was a political strategy hatched at the highest levels to disparage and deter him from seeking re-election.

The baselessness of the four cases against him has been unpacked before in these columns. But it is worth pointing out how Trump’s detractors sought to wring maximum public outrage from the statute of limitations-expired hush-money case. The figure of 34 felony charges was arrived at by adding up the repeated monthly ledger entries of the single sum owing. In so doing the baseless charge was criminally amplified thereby misleading and agitating millions like Markandan.

The political subversion of the US judiciary by Soros-funded lawyers, District Attorneys like Alvin Bragg, A-Gs like Letitia James and judges like Juan Merchan, are going to be exposed and made subject to accountability by the Trump Administration.

It will be interesting to see whether Markandan, like Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, performs a 180-degree turn on his perception of the US political landscape.

This is apparent from the number of people who persist in wearing masks despite the widely established scientific proof that masks do not impede viral penetration. Yet the mass media has never reported that fact.

The electronic and mass media exceeded saturation levels in promoting the jab, even urging that it be made mandatory. They maintained that narrative despite the proven reality that the so-called vaccines do not promote Covid immunity nor do they prevent viral transmission. Worse still, they denigrated the efficacy of a proven, inexpensive, effective viral treatment called ivermectin.

What the mass media studiously ignored was the fact that 99% of those who experienced Covid recovered from it. In other words, Covid was never a pandemic. A real pandemic, such as the Black Death of the fourteenth century, kills tens of millions. Nevertheless, the mass media persisted in propagating the pandemic narrative.

Significantly, ever since the pandemic delusion fizzled out seven months ago and the mass media quietly removed the slogans from their mastheads exhorting people to wear masks and to have the jab, the news cycle on the whole topic has disappeared.

Given the increasing reach of alternative media sources which are not beholden to the mass media narratives, the credibility of the mass media is in jeopardy. To remedy this reality, the mass media should apologise for withholding key information on the so-called pandemic.  Furthermore, it should be reporting the monthly VAERS –vaccine adverse events reporting system statistics. Compiled by the CDC, those stats monitor the mounting illnesses and fatalities caused by the so-called vaccines.
